City Hall
City Government is a combination of City Staff, elected and appointed officials, and all of the residents and business owners who choose to connect with the city by contributing their thoughts, ideas to solving problems and planning for the future. As a member of the City Council, I will strive to maintain a great relationship with all stakeholders in our city.
At the core of our city are the people who run Belmont day to day: the gardeners, the electricians, the code enforcement officers, the police, the firefighters, the engineers, administrators, planners, Park and Rec staffers, Public Works, and Finance, to name just a few.
City staffers tell me that they like working in Belmont because departments cooperate, because the city has some great and exciting plans for the future, because they like and respect their coworkers, and because our appointed and elected officials take the time to work with them in a cooperative manner.
We need to retain these committed city employees and do everything possible to support them. Competitive salaries and benefits packages are essential to retain and attract city workers. In addition, most people stay with their jobs because they feel valued and like coming into work everyday. So, next time you see something right going on, let the city staff know that they are doing a great job!
